Whether it’s a simple, comforting meal or something more indulgent, our kitchen adapts to you with care and attention. From traditional Kumaoni flavours to familiar favourites, everything is served as it would be at home — fresh, thoughtful, and always with warmth. Because here, you don’t dine as a guest.

Jaagar was never meant to be a hotel. It began as a long-held dream of two people who had spent their lives among these forests. Naturally, Jaagar grew into a place where guests could experience nature and Kumaon in its authenticity — slow, private, and deeply lived-in, in a rhythm of its own.

Our family has been native to Uttarakhand for over a century, with roots woven into the forests and communities around Corbett. We come from a proud Kumaoni legacy shaped not only by a deep love for this land, but also by a tradition of service, from participation in the freedom movement to pioneering efforts that brought financial access and opportunity to local communities. Jaagar is the realisation of over a sixty-year dream, built slowly and thoughtfully on a piece of land that has been part of our story for generations.

We are a small boutique retreat with a singular intent. To offer privacy without isolation, and comfort without performance. The honey comes from our own apiary, the fruit from our orchards, the vegetables from our garden. Nothing here is for show; it is simply how we have always lived.
