TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN AND AROUND JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK
For those who love adding to their knowledge and experiences, there is a lot to see in the neighbourhood of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. We strongly recommend these places to add the flavours of history, nature and divinity to the rustic experience that you come over to Jaagar for.
Here are some places of interest:
Garjiya Temple: is a sacred shine dedicated to Garjia Devi and situated majestically in the Kosi Rver atop a large rock, which is believed to have come floating during a flood and anchored itself where it currently stands. Thousands of devotees throng the temple on Kartik Purnima when an annual fair is also held.
Corbett Wildlife Museum: is the home of the legendary hunter turned wildlife conservationist Jim Corbett after whom the Corbett National Park is named. The place if worth a visit for you to see his personal belongings, collect some handmade souvenirs and rekindle the flame of protecting the magnificent companions nature created to share our planet with us.
Corbett Waterfall: is a 60-foot high waterfall which is a sight to behold. It lies 20 kms. From Ramnagar. Visit it for a refreshing bath in its pristine Himalayan waters and to enjoy the sights of its beautiful surroundings.
Kalagarh Dam: Located on the south-western side of the park, this 128 m high dam is situated on the Ramganga River in the Pauri Garhwal district. It also happens to be a bird watcher’s paradise with some beautiful migratory birds choosing to visit its lovely environs.
